About the Contributors

Eyitemi Egwuenu was born in Nigeria and received his education as a Medical Doctor. "I have
always been enchanted by the written word. There is none I believe who is nobler than a man or
woman gifted with original thoughts and the power of language to express them. Poetry is a
winged thing, immortal...it is for me the ultimate form of expression. And my dream is to write
(one day) poems that will truly live!" Mahdy Y. Khaiyat started writing poetry in 1990. The publication of a first poem in a literary
magazine the same year encouraged continued writing. Mahdy's poems have since been published
in periodicals in the United States, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Belgium, England, and Argentina. Kristy Baldwin is entering her Junior year at Monmouth University (New Jersey). She is pursuing an
English Education major and writing minor. She is co-editor of the alternative newspaper, The Independent.
