Introduction

Dear Reader, I welcome you to this issue of Subjective Substance. I hope you enjoy this issue as I feel it holds together very well as an anthology, seeming to reveal a thread of a unified story with the turn of each page. My sincere thanks are to all the poets who have shared their craft with me. Your words are a continuing inspiration. To aspiring poets who have revealed their work, I salute as you begin to listen to and share your inner voice. I wish you the best and support you as you continue in the honing of
your craft. We all live our lives, bearing witness, either consciously or unconsciously, to God's will and
how it plays itself out. Opportunities to reflect on reality arise almost continually. Out of this
may come stories; may come lessons learned; may come travelogues of the heart. Now is the time to begin remembering and to reach back through the haze of life and pull out what wisdom there is for you to pass on. As I sit in the middle of my megalopolis, spending my latent nights of power asleep, I wish seekers a little bit of the quiet and
contemplation of an Indian summer's night's repose as they find their way away from
distraction and spiritual malaise and toward untethered thought and higher truths. Omar Azam
