Taken By Storm
by John Douglass

Stop to stand in the rain Hoping to wash away the pain Abandoned blood coursing thru my veins Seeking verification of the sane Gentle storm increase your wrath As I stand within your path Cleanse my heart with your bath Unleash your torrents; all you hath Thunder whispers amplify your fury Men content run in a hurry The forlorn wait to speak to your jury Washed away like a chemical slurry Lightening strike to illuminate All that I incriminate Charge my soul or eliminate Everything left that humilates Wind shear my lonely thoughts No longer fooled by what they wrought Life\'s love continues to be sought Efforts to succeed so far for naught Sun shines not this day Moon slides behind the clouds to stay Until the days sins are washed away Purify my thoughts that betray My heart you\'ve taken by storm Now I wait for the new day to warm As the rain ultimately tranforms I, like life, return to norm
