Mercy
by Sabeen Ansari

In my heart - I hold dear; my family, friends, and humanity. I find it hard to believe that people can hurt each other, knowingly. My heart aches with the thought of emotional, physical, and psychological pain that so many have gone through. I raise my hands in a prayer and ask The Almighty to spread His Mercy on all, and I pray that He may deliver us from all the hardships that we may encounter. He is the One and Only that knows what is best for us, and Insha’Allah through His Grace shall we ever be thankful to Him.

Sabeen attends college in the Boston area and is studying the Natural Sciences and Elementary Education. She also works and is an editor for Illumination Magazine. She spends extra time volunteering at the Masjid. "Poetry has become a means, for me, to take all the thoughts and ideas from my mind and place them into a medium that expresses them in the best way. I usually write for myself and find it to be a release that allows me to think clearly."
